If you want to get more out of your entrepreneurial dream or are someone looking to turn
your passion into purpose, we have the perfect podcast for you. Listen to โUnlocking Your
Curious Mind in Businessโ on More Details, Please, hosted by Angela and Emmanuel
Williams, owners of mobile cleaning company, DetailXPerts. In this episode, the Williams sit
down with Jeff Heggie, success coach, entrepreneur and former professional rodeo cowboy,
to help you develop a business management mindset and break through the barriers
holding you back.
Unlock Your Curious Mind
As kids, weโre curious about everything, the how, the why and the where. As we get older,
we often lose the desire to ask a lot of questions, which can limit our success. So, if you
need help taking your business to the next level, tap into your curiosity again.
Jeff Heggie shares his coaching expertise and raises interesting questions throughout the
podcast to get you thinking. Listen to what he has to say about Dr Alan Bernard on the
importance of asking better questions like: โHow am I going to 10X my business?โ and why
setting impossible goals could help you get ahead.
Hold Yourself Accountable
When it comes to achieving a business management mindset, accountability comes up a lot
in the podcast conversation. Jeff says it also helps you step out of your comfort zone. โHave
daily accountability โ whatโs the one big thing youโve got to do?โ Also, listen to what he says
about psychologist Dr Benjamin Hardy being your future self. I.e., imagine the person you
want to be, and then be that person now. Here are some tips
๏ท Do find a coach, mentor, or trusted advisor who can hold you accountable daily. Jeff
says, โGet someone who isnโt your best friend or a family member.โ I.e., donโt give
yourself an easy way out.
๏ท Donโt stress about accountability. It is not about setting unrealistic workloads; it is a
reminder of your purpose. If you need a little encouragement, listen to the
conversation about living with purpose on More Details, Please.
๏ท Do set aside time for deep, uninterrupted work.
๏ท Donโt give up. Sometimes, itโs easier said than done. But youโre more likely to keep
going if you have fun along the way and celebrate small wins. Tune in to what Angela
and Emmanuel have to say on the podcast: How to find your joy in entrepreneurship.
Surround Yourself With the Right People
To achieve the business management mindset, spend more time with people who think like
you. Jeffโs advice: โYouโve got to surround yourself with the right people to help you talk
through things, to help you make the best decisions you can.โ Moreover, donโt end up
talking to the wrong people who may not always โgetโ your vision, and therefore hinder your
progress.
Equally important, itโs okay if you donโt always get it right. Jeff says, โI look at my
entrepreneurial experience, and I’ve had a lot of great successes. But I’ve also had a lot of
failures, and those failures, as hard as they were, and as many struggles as I went through
for clients that I work with, they’re more valuable than my successes.โ For more on this
subject, tune in to our episode: How to bounce back from failure.
Tap Into the Power of Visualization
Put in the preparation. Do as much work as you can to get the results you want. But
remember, you donโt always have to do it physically. Jeff says successful entrepreneurs and
athletes โvisualizeโ a lot. According to him, โVisualization is a powerful tool. You can do a lot
of things in your mind without doing it physically.โ Here are 3 tips to get you started:
1. Make it a daily ritual: Even if it is just 5 minutes a day, tune your brain into your
goals.
2. Feel the emotion: Imagine the pride, relief, or excitement youโll feel when you hit
the goal.
3. Tie it in with accountability: After visualizing the outcome, ask: Whatโs one step I can
take today to get closer to that vision? This closes the gap between dreaming and
doing.
Jeff also mentions writer and speaker Neville Goddardโs visualization techniques and how
this can help you achieve your goals. Tune into the episode to hear more on this fascinating
topic.
Identify Your Real Motivation
Motivation helps you maintain a strong business mindset. But youโve got to go beyond the
surface level of โwhyโ you want to achieve certain goals, like growing your business or
making money. Be honest with yourself. Bear in mind, many people donโt fail in business
because they lack talent โ they give up when they lose sight of why they started. Again, in
the podcast, Jeff recommends tips he has picked up along the way. For example, he talks
about the โSeven Levels Deepโ method recommended by Dean Graziosi.
This simple exercise can help you identify the true motivational driver behind your goals.
Listen to what Jeff has to say on the importance of asking this deeper โwhyโ if you want to
build a resilient mindset. For more motivation, tune into this popular episode from More
Details, Please: The best time is now: Entrepreneurs share their secrets and tips.
Get a Business Management Mindset
To sum up, working on your entrepreneurial mindset is an ongoing process. Daily
accountability (regular check-ins keep you motivated!) is one of the big points discussed on
the podcast. So is setting intentions and visualizing success โ things that boost your focus.
But there is so much more to take away from this energized conversation. Angela,
Emmanuel and Jeff cover everything from the determination of a professional rodeo
cowboy to breaking down big goals. Youโll also gain insights into how Jeff combines his love
of athletics with entrepreneurship to help you achieve the best version of yourself.
