I am the curator for an art gallery. As such, I oftentimes have to transport art to the gallery to set for exhibitions and installations. I love my job. It gives me the ability to surround myself with all manner of creative people and create a bit of art myself (I do watercolor landscapes. I’m less than a professional in that regard, but I find it to be a great stress reliever at the end of the day).

Being a curator can be stressful sometimes. I have to deal with the artists (who can sometimes have very impractical terms in which they need their art displayed, and the staff (who has been fortunately very gracious but of course keeping the whole ship running smoothly can be tricky at times). It’s a navigation of a myriad of people.

But I chose this career because of my passion for beautiful art, my ability to give “starving artists” (sorry but I really hate that term) a place to display their amazing talents to the world, and my inability to create anything worth hanging on a gallery wall. If you can’t be an artist, might as well help other artists become famous. It’s what I live for.

In this fast paced job of mine, I frequently don’t have time to take care of absolutely everything.
