Washing a car’s exterior is usually done on a regular basis, but what about your car’s interior? There are several people that say they practically “live” out of their cars. 1. Coconut oil and cupcake mold – use coconut oil on your dashboard and cup holders. Not only does it give it a little shine but it keeps the dust from settling again. To keep your cup holders from getting dirty, place a silicone cupcake mold inside each holder. That way, you just have to rinse them out when they get dirty.
2. Cooking spray – Do you have some cooking spray around? Spray this on the inside rubber seals of your car doors. Then wipe it in with a paper towel to keep your doors from icing shut or sticking when it is icy outside.
3. Coffee creamer containers – old coffee creamer containers are excellent for snacks and allow for snacks to be given a few at a time. Then they fit neatly in the backseat cup holders. Win, win! The kids can reach them and the backseat stays clean.
4. Large cereal containers – line your large cereal container with a recycled bag. The great thing about it is when it is closed, even if it tips over everything stays safely inside. A bonus is that you can wash the recycled bag inside the container when it gets dirty.
5. Recycled bags – put them over your headrests in the back seat so they hang just behind the backseats. This allows some extra storage space. Moreover, it still leaves room for the dog, groceries or other things that need transporting in the back of the car.
6. Lint rollers – Several lint rollers are a must. Something that stays in one of those bags for a quick roll over the back of the car before grocery shopping to remove stray dog hairs. Or your suit jacket before entering a client’s office when on the go.
7. Vinegar and water – a mixture of 3 parts vinegar to one part water to keep the ice off your car windows. Spray it on when you get out of the car at night and in the morning you’re still ice-free while your neighbors are still scraping ice. If you forget, spray the solution in the morning, wait a few minutes, and with minimal scraping you are once again ice-free.
